Building on more than 25 years experience in graphic design and a strong background in math, science and art, I have been working as an independent design and branding consultant in Toronto since 2003. Since the age of ten, my education has involved an even balance of math, science and the fine arts, starting with my education at the St. John Fine Arts School in Calgary, Alberta.
In 1991, my family moved to Southeast Asia where I studied for three years in Malaysia at both British and Canadian international schools. Upon completing high school, I returned to Canada and studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Nova Scotia where I completed a Bachelor of Design (Honours) and Major in Communication Design.
I began my career as a graphic designer at Spencer Francey Peters in Toronto, where I worked with a wide variety of blue-chip clients for over five years, specializing in corporate branding, information design, user interface design and developing identity standards manuals before striking out on my own in 2003.
As a freelance consultant, I have had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects including corporate identity and brand implementation, web application and user interface design, environmental graphics, advertising, packaging, event promotion and digital illustration.
Some of the leading brands with which I have had the pleasure of working, include Cameron Stewart LifeScience, Kahnert's Furs + Outerwear, MedAvail Technologies, Microsoft Health Solutions Group, Points.com, Redbox Canada, Sprinklr and many others.
I am a strong believer in creating simple and effective design solutions that not only achieve the project objectives, but also help to strengthen a client’s brand. If you would like to discuss an opportunity for collaborating on a project, please let me know.
